Upcoming 2020 Conference – Cancelled

It is with great sadness and careful consideration that we must cancel this year’s conference “Boom Bust and Now What…Balancing Expectations”, scheduled for June 7th – 10th, 2020 at the Cambridge in Red Deer, Alberta. The decision to cancel was a result of COVID-19 and the safety of our members and sponsors, along with the recommendations by Health Canada and Alberta Health to protect the health of everyone concerned.

According to World Health Organization on March 11th COVID-19 is considered a pandemic and with information from Alberta Health, mass gatherings are now limited to no more than 50 attendees. This includes: conferences, worship gatherings and family events such as weddings and funerals. We felt that cancelling the event is the best call to protect our families, colleagues and communities.

Over the next several weeks, we will be in contact with all registered delegates, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, hotels, golf course, etc. to start the process of refunds and contract cancellations. Due to the sheer volume of work, we ask for your patience as we cancel this large event.  For those of you who have made room reservations, please be sure to contact the hotel to cancel your rooms.

We appreciate all the volunteer hours that many of our members have contributed into organizing a conference of this magnitude. We believe cancelling this event is in the best interest of public safety, but are disappointed that this year’s event will not take place.
