Don't miss this opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of budget model and process options, key concepts and components that will support you to develop and tailor a high-quality budget for your government.

GFOA Alberta has just completed the development of its 3-day Budget Analyst Academy designed to provide finance professionals with an in-depth understanding of budgeting and how it fits with, and supports, achievement of broader organizational goals and priorities. The course presents a comprehensive and practical budget development model and provides a variety of supporting templates and a 145 page Course Manual covering all areas of budgeting from preparation to development to budget monitoring & evaluation. Specific topic areas explored during the course include: use of departmental business plans, public participation, financial policy, long-term debt, asset management & capital planning, multi-year budgeting, budget document format & content and budget presentation.

The course instructors are both Chartered Accountants with over forty-five (45) years of combined experience in local government finance and have taught a wide variety of financial courses. Expect both instructors to supplement course material with real-life experience; illustrative examples; practical tips and advice.

Costs will be $1,200 for Members and $1,500 for non-Members.
